Miller Lite Preventing Dui This Nfl Season

|

If you’re anything like me, you consider the beginning to the NFL season as the best part of fall. Unfortunately, when there are sporting events that serve alcohol, there’s the risk of drunk drivers on the roads. At least in terms of football, we here in Los Angeles didn’t have to worry about that until this season with the arrival of the Rams. It seems though that at least one city is actively seeking to prevent DUIs from NFL games.

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is teaming up with Miller Lite, in partnership with United Distributors, to provide Falcons fans free rides to and from the Georgia Dome. 12,500 “Breeze tickets” will be given to fans at select MARTA stations on Sunday, September 11th for the Falcons’ game against Tampa Bay and Sunday, October 2nd for the Falcons’ game against Carolina.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with MARTA,” said MillerCoors Alcohol Responsibility Manager Diane Wagner. “At MillerCoors, we believe that drunk driving is 100 percent preventable. Our flagship Free Rides program encourages fans to enjoy the game responsibly while keeping local roadways safe.”

The Free Rides program has provided safe rides to 5 million people in 26 different cities since 1988.

Who knows, maybe sometime soon the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will soon offer its own free rides program to and from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, that is until the new stadium is built.

In the meantime, fans should find continue to use the Metro, any other public transportation, Lyft, Uber, or a cab if they plan on celebrating touchdowns with alcohol.
