News From the Front…

Well, I’ve posted on drunk driving arrests involving horses, lawn mowers, wheelchairs, walking a bicycle – even playing with a foot-high toy bike, so maybe this will come as no surprise….

Zamboni Driver Charged with Drunk Driving

Kingsville, Ont.  Nov 1  -  A 34-year-old woman from Kingsville, Ont., has been charged with impaired driving — on a Zamboni.

Provincial police say an off-duty officer spotted the woman driving erratically on the ice resurfacer at Kingsville Arena on Thursday night.  The driver was missing major spots on the ice and bumping into the boards.

Maybe it’s a trend.  See my post two years ago, DUI on Ice, where a New Jersey judge threw out a Zamboni case, ruling that "four-ton ice rink-grooming machines aren’t motor vehicles because they aren’t useable on highways and can’t carry passengers".  Don’t you just hate it when some common sense judge takes all the fun out of MADD’s hysteria?

  1. In Wisconsin establishments are using WCCA website (or CCAP as it is more commonly known) to entrap patrons. If you are not liked of happen to find yourself entering an establishment you may find yourself being judged by who you are with, looked up on WCCA and judged by what’s there as I was on 12/29/2004. The management agreed to advance the fee for a taxi fare and then after reading my full name from the credit card that I had been using that was sitting in front of me and looked me up on Wisconsin’s Circuit Courts Access open circuits records website and put every obstical in my way of trying to obtain taxi fare. I was scheduled to start an Individual Application Analyste computer position with Humana’s Green Bay office two weeks later. After the data for the arrest posted on Wisconsin’s Circuit Courts Access (what is commonly referred to as CCAP), Humana recinded thier job. A full time job for $18 per hour with full medical benefits and retirement benefits, etc. My background check cleared on 12/27/2004, two days prior to the entrapment and arrest, yet Humana recinded the job offer. I had the option to retain an attorney but could not afford it. I had no job and had to pay for an attorney to represent me for the OWI that I was called in on after repeated times of asking to get a cash advance from my credit card and at first being told “sure” then reniging on the agreement after having looked me up on WCCA. Then I asked if they had an ATM machine in the establishment and a sarcastic “no” was the response and followed by a nasty statement of “I suppose she wants to write a check.”. I asked if I could and was told “we don’t accept out of town checks.”. I was then told that the establishment was closing. It was about 10:45 p.m. I asked if the Wisconsin Tavern Owner’s League could advance me the taxi fare. The establishment got angrier. I got up and walked out to my car and sat for awhile wondering what to do. I was over one hundred miles south of were I lived, in Green Bay, WI. I didn’t know where to go. I have a foot that is in need of surgical repair and cannot walk for long distances. In addition to the foot injury, I have a fractured back and other orthopedic issues (residual affects of having been a victim of “shaken baby syndrome” when I was a child). I tried repeatedly to obtain a taxi and the woman behind the bar judged me by who I had given a ride to the establishment but more importantly by what was on the WCCA website. I know this because of what was said after the bar tender returned to a where she was standing in front of me prior to having looked me up on the website and said “nothing open” to the only patron sitting in the establishment who was known as a regular, as well as the girl I had given a ride to originally. It was and is a matter of popularity to be able to walk into establishments in WI. The website is used to discriminate against housing, employment and health care. These are only a few ways the website is used to discriminate. I can not tell you in this limited space how the website has totally ruinned my site. My landlord at my last apartment used the website to weed out and select the worse tenant and put them in the only apartment just accross from me in my apartment complex, days prior to his having sold the place. I believe this was done on purpose as was his use of the site to lurk in my apartment without formerly informing me that he was going to be in my apartment. The website also allows citizens from neighboring states to check out WI citizens and harrass & take advantage of them without thier even realizing it or grasping the concept of what’s happening. Wisconsin citizen’s do not receive “due process” just by its shear existence. People’s privacy is being totally ripped apart in WI. Consider a landlord that is aware of data on WCCA on a single pregnant female. He is wide open to abuse her in her down state while she resides in his apartment complex and is at his mercy. It happens. Very often. There are other abuses which involve women being harrassed by the data on a former abuser that checks out the data, seeks out the former victim and re victimizes them. I have been through enough to know having lived in WI since the website having gone live in 1997 (Wis Blue Book states that the site went live on April 5th, 1999 but I contacted the administrative agency, CCAP, that oversees the site, WCCA, and they insisted that it went live on 4/5/99 only to see on the WCCA website a new page posting all “live dates” by each county in WI. So, in fact it was not in my mind that the data was available in 1998, prior to 1999 which the WI Blue Book stated in it’s publication. I also wondered why or if the data of the logging on IP address was available to the general public since the website is considered public information and after having written to the CCAP agency was told that CCAP doesn’t archive any IP data and a logon or registering on the website is not required. Later I read an article that stated that they, CCAP, sees a spiking of use of the website at bar time which in fact proves that the data is monitored and more than likely archived. I find it hard to believe that an agency of the government wouldn’t archive the data that was available, in logon IP format, and utilize the data for legal purpose or research. I have had web design in college and paralegal education too so I’m not naive.

The aspects of how Wisconsin’s WCCA (Wisconsin’s Circuit Courts Access) affects Wisconsin’s constitutional rights negatively is mind boggling. And it’s sad to realize that Wisconsin’s citizens do not even realize it. The data is posted all around the world. Even people who pass away and have thier estate goes into probate will have the estimated value of thier estate posted to the CCAP website all around the world. This simply dosen’t seem constitutional to me!!
