As a little background, a young man had recently passed away in a traffic accident (NOT alcohol or drug-related). About a month later, the school was having an assembly in gym where the students watched an exhibition game between the boys basketball team and their coaches. In the middle of the game, a young man pretended to be dying. Of course the students in attendance were horrified. An ambulance came in and simulated use of a defibrillator on the young man. Then, a voice came over the intercom reminding students that this kind of thing can happen when someone uses drugs. Needless to say, the only lasting impact on any of the students was mistrust of their administrators and resentment towards the whole anti-drug/anti-alcohol education system. What is wrong with these people ? Can you picture some kid who did not appreciate the joke, deliberately getting trashed and then driving ? With an "I'll show you" kind of motivation ? Or maybe cutting loose in the hallway with a Glock 9mm ? I hope there are lawsuits, and plenty of em. Strike while the iron is hot. Sue for what might have, or could have happened. I encourage your stand and wish you the best. By standing back and doing nothing is what's letting people with "agendas" get their way. Right is right no matter what BS is thrown in the mix. Wrong is wrong as well. I don't think driving is good, but the current way of doing things is even worse, guilty until proven innocent for DUI.
