I've seen and heard of other cases where prosecutors or police administration officials "instruct" laboratory staff how to testify on particular aspects of a case. These types of incidents are perfect examples of why forensic laboratories need to be brought out of law enforcement organizations, and moved over to their own separate entity. They still need to be government agencies; because the last thing we need is "free-market" bean counting affecting the quality of analysis performed, but agencies on equal level with prosecutors offices and law enforcement departments.I myself was once told by an investigator to “re-analyze” a case and have a new conclusion that would help the prosecutor with his case. I eventually had to leave the organization and go work for another.
