After the wedding, they attended a party, complete, with a live band their parents had hired to help celebrate the event. They did not drive away from the party, as it was held in the same hotel they were staying at. The following morning, they left the hotel to catch thier flight in Lubbock, for a honeymoon trip to Mexico. That morning, along a lonely stretch of road, a DPS officer spotted the vehicle, with the just married graffiti on the back windshield. The groom was arrested on DUI charges. As I have said on many occasions, I believe them to be a well-intentioned group of “true believers” — who, like most zealots, have a rigid and narrow focus and are ignorant of the harm they cause to others. And in other posts I have tried to explain the nature of that harm.
