I fail to see how the US Supreme Court creatively interpreting the 6th Amendment is any different then how the 1st and 2nd have also been creatively interpreted in order to satisfy political/society pressures. As long as the people of this country tolerate living somwhere that the rights of "society" are put above the rights of the individual, this will be the outcome.People who don't drink can be apathetic about the creative interpretation of the 6th Amendment relating to DUI cases, saying "I don't care, it doesn't affect me because I don't drink. I don't see why people have a need to drink." The same way that non-gun owners don't care about gun owning rights are attacked by the US Supreme Court, State, and Local laws - "I don't care, I don't own any guns. I don't see why people have a need for them."As with any slippery-slope situation, once the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments have been creatively interpreted, it's only a matter of time before something else gets creatively interpreted that effects you, and you will be in the minority on that issue.
